This is the first posting of the Irish Archive Resource’s blog – thank you for joining us! If you don’t know about the IAR already then let me explain. We are an access point to collection level descriptions of archive collections across the entire island of Ireland. We hope that we assist in not only raising the profile of the archives, but also in helping to make it more easy to find collections for the researcher. We are involved in education and outreach activities and have so far produced two educational resource packs on topics using Irish archive collections as its basis – these are both downloadable here. We plan to use this blog to post news about the collections and repositories that we host and also about the activities going on in the world of archives so please sit back and enjoy!
