    Founded in 1917, "An Stoc" was edited by Tomas O Maille, and contained articles by many academics and others associated with University College Galway at the time. The paper was printed from 1917 - 1920, and again from 1923 - 1931. It was one of the first provincial newspapers in Irish, and the first in Connacht.

    Held in the James Hardiman Library prior to 1998, probably donated by Prof. Tomas O Maille, founder and editor of the newspaper.
