Anne James worked in the television industry for many years. During the filming of programmes she took photographs on set, in 1966 she was working with the director Peter Luke on a film for the seminal BBC arts series 'Monitor' on the Irish composer Seán Ó Riada.

The collection contains 77 negatives and 3 contact sheets of black & white images of Seán Ó Riada taken by Anne James during the filming of Ó Riada in 1966 by Peter Luke for the BBC. The images show Seán Ó Riada and family at home and around Coolea, being interviewed, fishing, attending [mass] and playing music at a [local gathering] with ‘[Wren] Boys’ also attending. Some of the musicians identified are Paddy Moloney and Seán Keane.
