Exclusive gentleman's club. (Not to be confused with the Mallow Commercial Club). May have been established in 1813, or possibly 1760. One of the first such clubs outside Dublin. By start of 20th c. members included resident gentry of the town and neighbourhood, medical practitioners, officers of the local military and Royal Irish Constabulary, solicitors, bank managers and officials, prominent businessmen. Club President in early 1900s was R.E. Longfield of Longueville House, High Sheriff in 1887. Situated in the basement of 33 Bank Place, Mallow from 1864, previously occupied by the North Cork Militia. Former premises was directly West of St. Mary's Catholic Church. May formerly have been constituted as the Moyallow (Mallow) Loyal Protestants Society 1745-1760, ostensibly to support King George against the Catholic Stuarts.

Longfield, Major A.R. Hutchinson, Arthur G. Creagh, C.A. Webb, Captain W.Holmes, Alan Bell, W.W. Purcell, K.B. Williams, J.C. Aldworth, J.J. Dudley, J.S. Poole MD, Captain Bullen, J.L. Sullivan, F.J.F Smith, Capt. J. Harris, E.H. Montgomery, J.A. Hardy, J.V. Carpenter, Capt. J. Creagh, B.R. Brasier, Col. Williamson. Includes yearly financial statements of accounts of the club. Also enclosed is a letter and telegram concerning the employment of Mr. and Mrs Patrick Neill, Whitegate, as steward and stewardess of Club (Jul 1906).
