  • Administrative History ↴

The National Association of the Prevention of Tuberculosis was founded in 1899. It brought together some of the leading medical professionals of the day with the aim of eradicating the disease, primarily through public health information, and the relief of those suffering from the disease. The Dublin Branch was founded at a meeting held in July 1899 in the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, where most of the Branch's meetings were held. This collection covers the first ten years of the Dublin Branch. By the later 1900s the Association in Ireland was overshadowed by the work of the Women's National Health Association.
