The RTÉ Guide is a television and radio listings magazine in Ireland published by RTÉ Commercial Enterprises Ltd, a subsidiary of Raidió Teilifís Éireann. The RTÉ Guide was first published on 1 December 1961 as the RTV Guide and changed its name to its current title in 1966. The magazine has employed photographers to supply images from its beginning and the collection contains images taken by the following photographers: Roy Bedell, John Cooney, Eve Holmes, Miles Randall, Gordon Standing.

This collection is comprised of shots taken by photographers working for the ‘RTÉ Guide’ from 1962 to the present date. The collection features images from television and radio programmes, including guests, presenters and the staff involved in the production of light entertainment, drama, music and current affairs output. Iconic RTÉ Television drama series such as ‘Tolka Row’ and ‘The Riordans’ are well-represented, as are entertainment shows featuring contemporary singers and musicians. Current shots include celebrities, cookery, health, fashion and beauty.

Conditions of Access & Use
Access Conditions
All fully catalogued images in the RTÉ Guide Collection are available to view online with the RTÉ watermark. Cataloguing is ongoing and newly catalogued images are uploaded to the website on a weekly basis. Unwatermarked images, whether high or low resolution, are only issued via Stills Library staff.
Conditions Governing Reproduction
Images can be reproduced with permission only and according to rate card published on RTÉ Stills Library Online. An online ordering system exists.

Negatives digitised pre-2005 are high resolution jpegs, 18MB in size with a pixel dimension of 2048 x 3072. Those digitised from 2005 onwards are uncompressed TIFF files. They are 28MB in size with a pixel dimension of 2048 x 3072.
